A legendary figure from Greek mythology, King Midas was granted a wish by the god Dionysus.
Obsessed with wealth, Midas wished that everything he touched would turn into gold.
He surely didn’t think that one through.
Midas ended up turning his food, drink, and even his daughter into solid gold.
In desperation, he begged Dionysus to remove the curse, and the god obliged.
Most would say the moral of the story is about greed and the dangers of valuing material wealth above all else.
But I think he simply didn’t wish for the right thing.
What King Midas should have wished for is:
To turn his ideas into gold!
